Industrial bearings are easy to search for and surprisingly easy to order incorrectly. A buyer may have a familiar model number, receive several quotations and still end up comparing different products. One supplier quotes an original brand, another offers a Chinese equivalent, and a third leaves out the suffix that defines the cage, clearance, seals or internal design.
That is why a useful bearing inquiry starts with the application and the complete designation, not simply with a request for the lowest price. This guide explains how overseas factories, maintenance teams and equipment builders can source industrial bearings from China with fewer misunderstandings.
Start with the complete bearing number
A short code such as "6004" identifies a bearing series and size, but it does not always identify the full product. The letters and numbers before or after the basic designation may describe shields, seals, internal clearance, cage material, contact angle, precision class or a manufacturer-specific design.
For example, an SKF 6004-2Z deep groove ball bearing has metal shields on both sides. A quotation for an open 6004 or a rubber-sealed 6004-2RS is not the same offer, even though all three share the same basic dimensions.
The same rule applies to larger and more specialized bearings:
- An SKF NU 306 ECM cylindrical roller bearing includes an NU arrangement and a machined brass cage reference.
- An SKF 7307 BECBP angular contact ball bearing should be compared using the complete BECBP designation, not only "7307."
- A FAG QJ219-N2-MPA four-point contact bearing has construction details in the N2 and MPA suffixes that matter to the replacement.
Decide what you are actually buying
"Bearing supplier in China" can mean several different things. The right sourcing route depends on the requirement.
| Buying requirement | What the quotation should state |
|---|---|
| Exact branded replacement | Brand, complete model, country or channel information where available, quantity and document scope |
| Chinese-brand equivalent | Proposed brand, complete equivalent model, dimensions, load and speed data, material, clearance and application limits |
| OEM production bearing | Drawing, annual volume, tolerance, noise or vibration requirement, life target, validation plan and sample approval |
| Obsolete or unusual bearing | Original code, cross-reference basis, machine information, measured dimensions and any proposed design change |
| Mixed maintenance order | One line per brand and model, required quantity, accepted alternatives and shipment deadline |
MAVORIX is not presented as an authorized distributor for the brands mentioned on this site. Our role is to help buyers organize the inquiry, compare supply options, coordinate checks and consolidate approved items in China. For critical branded bearings, the buyer should define the required distribution channel and authenticity evidence before placing the order.
What to include in an industrial bearing RFQ
A clean bearing list saves time and produces more comparable offers. A practical RFQ should include:
- Complete manufacturer designation, including every prefix and suffix.
- Required brand and whether alternatives are allowed.
- Quantity for each line item.
- Photos of the old bearing, ring marking and packaging label.
- Machine brand, model and bearing position when known.
- Operating speed, radial and axial load, temperature and working environment for technical selection.
- Lubrication method, seal or shield preference and internal-clearance requirement.
- Required certificates, source documents or inspection records.
- Packing, labeling and preservation requirements.
- Destination country and requested delivery date.
Compare bearing quotations line by line
Industrial bearing quotations often look similar because the same model numbers appear in the first column. The differences are usually hidden elsewhere.
Check the following before treating two prices as comparable:
- Brand and supply basis: Is the offer for the requested brand, an approved alternative or an unspecified equivalent?
- Complete designation: Are cage, clearance, seal, precision and matched-set details written in full?
- Quantity and unit: Is the price per piece, per pair or per set? This is especially important for matched precision bearings.
- Lead time: Does "in stock" mean physically available stock, supplier stock or stock expected from another channel?
- Condition and production date: For slow-moving models, ask about preservation condition and how long the stock has been stored.
- Documents: Clarify which documents are included and who issues them. A generic certificate is not the same as traceable manufacturer documentation.
- Packing: Confirm individual boxes, moisture protection, outer cartons, palletizing and model separation for mixed orders.
- Trade terms: Compare the same Incoterm, currency, tax basis and freight scope.
Check the supplier, not only the catalog
China has bearing manufacturers, brand distributors, stockists and general industrial trading companies. Each can be useful, but they do different work.
A manufacturer may be suitable for repeat orders of a defined Chinese-brand or OEM bearing. A stockist may be faster for mixed quantities and uncommon models. A multi-category sourcing partner can help when bearings are only one part of a larger MRO purchase that also includes seals, belts, pumps, valves and electrical components.
Before payment, review the company's legal identity, business scope, quotation details, bank account name and ability to answer product-specific questions. Ask where the quoted stock is held and whether the supplier will provide current photos of the exact model. For a larger order, a supplier visit or third-party verification may be worthwhile.
Be cautious when a supplier uses authorization language but will not provide evidence that can be checked through the brand owner. Premium-brand bearings are a known target for counterfeiting. Packaging quality and a familiar logo are not enough by themselves. Where available, use the manufacturer's official verification channel, code-checking tool or authorized-distributor search.
Plan the inspection around the risk
There is no single inspection checklist for every bearing order. The scope should reflect the product, value and consequence of failure.
For a normal replacement order, useful checks may include:
- Brand and complete model marking on the bearing.
- Box label matched to the bearing inside.
- Quantity by model and brand.
- Visible rust, dents, contamination or damaged preservation.
- Bore, outside diameter and width when dimensional checking is agreed.
- Seal, shield, cage and bore configuration.
- Internal clearance or precision marking where specified.
- Condition of individual boxes and outer shipping cartons.

Branded bearings and Chinese alternatives need different approval paths
Overseas buyers often ask whether Chinese bearings are "good." The question is too broad to be useful. China produces commodity bearings, specialist industrial bearings and premium products, with a wide range of quality systems and process control.
For an exact branded replacement, the main questions are model correctness and source confidence. For a Chinese alternative, the buyer also needs to evaluate the manufacturer and the technical match. That can include material specification, dimensional tolerance, internal clearance, dynamic and static load ratings, limiting speed, noise or vibration grade, lubrication and expected duty cycle.
A trial order makes sense when the application allows it. For an OEM program, samples should be approved against a written requirement and then linked to the production order. For a safety-critical or shutdown-critical position, engineering approval and a controlled supply channel are more important than a small unit-price saving.
Consolidating a mixed bearing order from China
Many factories do not need a container of one bearing. They need twenty models in small or medium quantities, often from several brands. That is where the administrative work becomes heavier than the physical order.
A China-side consolidation process can bring the approved bearings to one warehouse, count them against the purchase list, separate models clearly and pack them with other maintenance items. The warehouse record should preserve the connection between the original supplier, model, quantity and final carton number.
For mixed orders, use carton labels that can be read without opening every box. Heavy bearings should sit at the bottom of strong cartons or cases, with moisture protection suitable for the shipping method. Avoid placing precision bearing boxes loose beside heavy metal parts that can crush them in transit.
The approach works for common ball bearings, cylindrical and spherical roller bearings, thrust bearings and less common precision sets. For example, the separable SKF 51226 thrust ball bearing and the drawing-based IEF BCB-3572-2R-SU-CP precision bearing set require very different technical conversations, but both benefit from a clear line-item record before consolidation.
A sensible first step for buyers
If you already have a bearing list, do not rewrite it into a short message. Send the original spreadsheet, photos and machine information. Mark which lines require the exact brand and which may be quoted with alternatives. If the list includes discontinued or hard-to-read models, keep those lines separate so they can be researched without delaying the standard items.
