Product Overview
The SKF 51226 consists of a shaft washer, a housing washer and a ball-and-cage assembly. The separable construction allows the three parts to be mounted independently, which is useful when the shaft and housing seats must be assembled from opposite sides.
This bearing supports axial force in one direction. A suitable minimum axial load is required in service to keep the rolling elements correctly engaged, particularly where speed, acceleration or load variation could allow the assembly to unload.
For replacement work, confirm the 51226 designation and all three principal dimensions. Seat geometry, alignment, lubrication, speed and the direction of axial force must also suit a thrust-ball-bearing arrangement.
