Product Overview
The SKF 6004-2Z is a compact deep groove ball bearing for radial load and moderate axial load in either direction. Its simple raceway geometry supports relatively high rotational speed when fits, internal clearance, lubrication and load are correctly selected.
The 2Z suffix identifies a non-contact metal shield on each side. The shields retain factory grease and reduce the entry of larger particles without the rubbing contact of a rubber seal. They do not make the bearing waterproof or suitable for heavy contamination.
For replacement, distinguish 6004-2Z from open 6004, sealed 6004-2RS variants and bearings with additional clearance suffixes such as C3. The correct closure and internal clearance depend on the machine temperature, fits and speed.
