Check whether the supplier matches the product
A supplier should be evaluated against the exact industrial product you need. A company that sells many unrelated categories may not be the right source for technical machinery, OEM parts, or MRO items.
Review business and communication signals
Supplier verification includes business profile review, website consistency, product focus, export communication, response quality, quotation clarity, and whether the team can answer technical questions.
Ask technical questions
Good questions reveal capability. Ask about materials, tolerances, standards, production process, testing method, packing, spare parts, and lead time. Weak or copied answers are risk signals.
Confirm documents and order details
Before payment, confirm proforma invoice details, company name, bank account consistency, product specification, quantity, packing, delivery term, and inspection plan.
Use inspection and staged orders
For higher-risk orders, staged payment, samples, trial orders, and pre-shipment inspection can reduce exposure. The inspection checklist should match the product, not a generic template.
